It’s been so long since I have posted on my blog. Okay, here is the update about my Goa Trip. The trip was a very short one for only 2 days, planned just a day before. This time not many friends could join because of their busy schedules, only I, Praveen and Sharath could make it.

Yesterday I saw one of the best movies I had ever seen, “Happy Days”. The movie is excellent. No, it’s actually excellent++.

“Those were the best days of my Life”!!
Sun 2 Sep 2007
Gone are the days that we used to spend long hours in chit-chat.
Gone are the days that we used to have chat at the road-side.
Gone are the days that we used to party all night reading books(?).
Gone are the days that we used to do night-outs sitting in the balcony.
Gone are the days that we used to curse professors/lecturers.
Gone are the days that we used to gossip about the affairs in our college.
Gone are the days that we used to travel 30kms in mid-night to have Biryani.
Gone are the days that I had enjoyed with my friends.
Gone are the days! Everyone is busy with their own work, own life, own limitations at different places spread across the country. Those days will never come back..
THOSE WERE THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE!!!

Pathetic IRCTC - Unable To Retrieve Due To Communication failure
Posted by Chait under India , Travel[7] Comments
One of the most popular and widely used web sites in India is Indian Railway Reservation Site, http://www.irctc.co.in. From this site one can book travel tickets for any Train in India. There has been lot of features added like e-ticket which proved to be very much useful. But if you have used this site, you will know how painful it is to book tickets online. It does not look like a professional site at all, damn slow and the navigation is very poor. And I bet that no one can reserve tickets at this site directly in one go. There will be several error messages coming up and some times it hangs after giving the payment details.
Two days back I was trying to book tickets in Tatkal and when I put in all my details and it showed the infamous “Unable To Retrieve Due To Communication failure” error message. I tried all day and had no luck. So I had booked tickets by bus. Again today as I trying to book tickets, the same error message again!!! This is not acceptable.
Why this heck? Can’t the profit running Indian Railways afford to setup a new online reservation system? If they say there are n-restrictions because of back-end legacy systems, it’s the time to change them. IRCTC can even provide some APIs/Web services that enable third party applications to communicate and do reservations, just like many Air Travel Reservation Systems.
